“Serves her right” Mixed reactions trail singer, Tems’ Oscars loss

At the 2023 Oscars event held at the Dolby Theatre, Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles, US, there were differing reactions following singer Tems’ Oscar loss.

Tems was nominated for “Best Original Song” for her role in “Lift me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, according to Kemi Filani.

Regrettably, “NAATU NAATU” from the popular Telugu film RRR won the award instead of the quickly growing vocalist.

By being the first Indian cinema song to win an Oscar, NAATU NAATU made history.

Tems is included in a new song by Rihanna.

Remember that after her 2016 album Anti, Rihanna had just released her first solo song since then, ‘Lift Me Up’ for the film ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Tems, Rihanna, Ludwig Göransson, and the movie’s director, Ryan Coogler, all contributed to the song’s writing. It pays homage to the late Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman, who passed away in 2020 following a personal fight with colon cancer that he was diagnosed with in 2016.
