One among the people that has laid the foundation in the creative industry for over two decades now is Akume Akume, the Nollywood middlebelt ambassador. He hails from Kastina Ala Local Government Area of Benue State. His mother is of the Yoruba origin.
He begins his professional acting career in Telefest Drama by the NTA Jos (Television Festival) 1996/1997 titled: Black Out, Directed by Mr. Billy’s Keffi.
Since then he has acted over one hundred (100) films such like, Father Jack, Good bye Mother, Sincerely Yours, Enemy Within, Cow Girl, Snake Girl, Under Belly, Star Lights to mention but a few. He has also acted numerous award winning movies and shows such as, the BBC famous Wetin dey.
Right from the beginning of his early days in the industry, Akume associate himself with positive, focused and creative minds, those who he can learn from not those who could drain his valuable energy with complaining and uninspiring attitudes.
By developing relationship with those committed to constant improvement and the pursuit to be the best, he realise that he had absolutely amazing untapped talents that, if properly unleashed and applied will take not only his career but others too to stardom and indeed he has reached the zenith of his acting career.
Some of Ambassador Akume’s movies include, Gods of Khirzama, Forest of the Dead Guzama, Zara, We Meet Again, and Tera & Landlord & Tenant Series to mention but a few.
Again, the celebrated actor is multi talented – an actor, model, musician, and stylist of international reputation. He knows how to speak the three major languages in Nigeria – Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba.
The lustrous actor penchant and abnegation in the entertainment industry was well acknowledged, appreciated and applauded as he was crowned Nollywood Middlebelt Ambassador
Interestingly, he was the Face of Nigeria @50 Project and the Face of Fighting Male Cancer (Prostate Cancer)
Akume Akume has been honored with the prestigious Africa Magic Movies Award and other several awards like, Arewa Movie Award, Nigerian Movie Award, Benue Actor of the Year and to mention but a few.
