The governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has raised concerns over the destruction of properties in the state as thugs in disguise as peaceful #Endsars protesters looted and spoilt businesses and government belongings.
He has warned those instigating war on social media to stop, that peace is what’s needed at the moment. According to him, he led some members of his cabinet to visit destroyed sites in the state and in his words.. “he won’t condone such acts again.”
“Enough is enough” I have gone around and I’ve seen my people need time to heal from the wounds. Stop using social media to incite anger and hatred among us.”
“It will not be under my watch that we will lose the city that has the largest economy in the entire black nation.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu described what happened in the state as a coordinated attack which will take decades to heal.
“My heart bled after I went out today for a first-hand assessment of the destruction of assets of the Government and private properties.
“The level of destruction observed indicated that the violence was more than just a peaceful protest and agitations for police reforms. The proportion of the devastation is a lot. This is not the Lagos that was handed over to me on May 29, 2019,” the statement further quoted the governor.
Also, the governor will be setting up a panel to investigate the shooting on Tuesday.
He urged the public to send in their petition and evidence to the investigation panel.
