Tension has been created in Lagos State amidst the #EndSarsProtest. The governor of Lagos State, Sanwo Olu has ordered a 24 hours curfew in the state. The announcement was made on the governor's Twitter handle.
According to the governor, the curfew is to take effect from 4pm. The governor expressed his concern over the protest which started peacefully but things generated into violence and creating chaos in the state.
The governor revealed lives have been lost and properties vandalized by thugs under disguise as protesters. This decision was made to secure the lives and property of well meaning citizens in the state, he noted that was what the government is for.
The tweet reads, “Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has declared a 24-hour curfew in the State, starting from 4pm today, 20th October, 2020.
“Nobody, except essential service providers and first responders must be found on the streets.”
